Alexander Povetkin – on preparations for a rematch with White: “There were difficulties with sparring partners”

Interim WBC heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin admitted that due to coronavirus restrictions, it was difficult for him to find sparring partners ahead of the rematch with Dillian White, which will take place on March 27.

However, the Russian boxer assured that he was satisfied with the work with Magomedrasul Medzhidov and Igor Shevadzutsky, who this time helped him prepare for the fight.

“Of course, there were difficulties with sparring partners. Now all countries are closed due to the coronavirus. But I believe that I had a good sparring partner. He is from Russia. I mean Medzhidov.”

The sparring sessions went well. I also sparred with Igor Shevadzutskiy. Good, strong guys. I think I stood well with them in pairs. Everything is fine, “- said Alexander Povetkin during a virtual press conference before the rematch with Dillian White.

Recall that Povetkin also shared his opinion about the fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
