Prince Frédéric wants to become governor

Prince Frédéric has – once again – big plans. Zsa Zsa Gabor’s widower still dreams of entering politics. Once again he wants to run for the gubernatorial election in California. Will he be successful this time?

As a candidate for the RTLzwei show “Kampf der Realitystars”, which was recently recorded in Thailand, Prince Frédéric von Anhalt recently had to compete against 24 other comrades-in-arms. How far he has come will be seen when the episodes are broadcast. How far he got in the elections for governor of California in 2011 and 2018 is already clear: not too far. But now the native German competes again.

The adoptive prince has lived in the USA for 38 years and would by no means be the first immigrant to make it into this position. After all, the Austrian Arnold Schwarzenegger was California Governor from 2003 to 2011. “We’re all a little crazy. We all spin the wheel a little in Hollywood,” said Prince Frédéric regarding his motivation. He has therefore already registered. The election will not take place until November 8, 2022.

Chances at 35 percent?

The 77-year-old is currently in Germany for professional projects, but will soon go back to the USA. After all, the former baker from Bad Kreuznach has to take care of the election campaign and hopes that his social commitment to the homeless and needy children will give him a good chance of taking office. He thinks they are currently at 35 percent.

How well the widower of Hollywood legend Zsa Zsa Gabor actually knows his constituency, RTL wanted to find out in an interview. In fact, the 77-year-old did find one or the other knowledge gap in the quiz. So he didn’t know when the state was founded. He also did not know the number of inhabitants. The fact that the capital of California is called Sacramento earned him a point after all.

Also in the race for the job is Caitlyn Jenner, another public figure who has so far had little to do with politics. “Of course we are opponents now, Caitlyn and I. We fight each other somehow, but we fight each other in a friendly way,” said von Anhalt about the relationship with the 71-year-old. If Jenner ends up getting more votes than he does, he’ll stand behind her and even cede his voters to her, he adds generously.
