Anthony Hopkins celebrated his Oscar win with Salma Hayek

The actor was not present at the awards ceremony and, when announced the winner, slept at home.

Salma Hayek posted a short video on her Instagram profile in which she showed how she and Anthony Hopkins celebrate his Oscar for Best Actor in Father.

In the video, the 83-year-old actor is dancing at his home in Wales to Leonard Cohen’s song Dance Me to the End of Love. After a while, Salma appears in the frame, gracefully gesturing with her hands, and then she and Anthony hug tightly.

Fans of the stars called their dance a touching sight, and some joked that dancing with Salma is even better than winning an Oscar.

Hopkins became the oldest film winner this year. He received two shots against the coronavirus and was relieved to return to Wales, where he was able to take a break from work and the difficult period of the pandemic. Perhaps that is why the actor skipped the ceremony and did not even watch it on TV, but slept peacefully when he was announced the winner.

“Anthony was asleep at 4 am when I woke him up to tell him the good news. He was so happy and so grateful, ”said the director of the actor.

And Anthony Hopkins himself published on his page an appeal to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and colleagues with whom he worked on the film “Father”. He expressed his deep gratitude and gratitude to them, as well as traditionally thanked his family and personally his wife Stella.

Recall that the actor won the Oscar for the second time. He received his first coveted statuette back in 1992 for his role in the thriller Silence of the Lambs.
