According to IDC, global shipments of wearable devices in 2020 grew by 28.4% to 444.7 million devices. In the fourth quarter of last year, 153.5 million wearable devices were delivered to the market, which was 27.2% more than a year before. Apple was the leader in the market for wearable devices last year, accounting for 36.2% of total shipments in the fourth quarter, or 55.6 million devices. The second place in terms of the number of wearable devices sold in the fourth quarter was taken by Xiaomi with 13.5 million units, which accounted for 8.8% of the total sales volume. The third place in the last quarter was taken by Samsung with 13 million wearable devices sold and a share of 8.5%. Huawei is in fourth place in the list of leaders with a score of 10.2 million units and a share of 6.7%. Fifth place went to BoAt, known only to Indian consumers and operating in the headphone segment. In terms of annual sales, Apple delivered 151.4 million devices to the market, its annual growth rate was 35.9%. Xiaomi’s sales were at 50.7 million with an increase of 21.7%. The outsider of the market was Fitbit, whose sales fell 18.8% to 12.9 million units for the year.
