Ashley Judd, 52, is recovering from an incident that happened to her in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The actress shared pictures of the grueling 55-hour rescue operation with followers on Instagram. In fact, she saved her life after the actress broke her leg during an excursion she took to research the bonobos, a unique species of local monkeys.
“Without my Congolese brothers and sisters, my internal bleeding would probably have killed me and I would have lost my leg,” Ashley wrote on Instagram, posting pictures of her being carried away from the scene in a hastily made hammock, then bandaged and driven away. in hospital.
Judd added that she literally wakes up in tears of gratitude, deeply moved by every person who contributed to her salvation. So, one of them fixed her badly injured leg – it was broken in four places, and one of the fractures touched a nerve. Bystanders stayed with her for several hours, helping her to relive the pain.
Six more people carried her to a motorcycle, which, many hours later, took the actress to safety. Ashley is now in a trauma intensive care unit in South Africa.
