Avanesyan’s coach: “Kelly won’t keep up with the pace in the fight with David”

Karl Greaves, coach of the Russian welterweight David Avanesyan (26-3-1, 14 KO), admitted that he considers his ward a very inconvenient fighter for British prospect Josh Kelly (10-0-1, 6 KO), a fight with which after a few hours will lead the show from Matchroom Boxing.

“This guy is well led and to his credit, he has never played against fighters with negative records. However, I believe that he needed to go to this meeting after one or two fights. And I really believe that David knows how to get close to him.

Stylistically, this alignment is always interesting. Either Josh can outbox David in twelve rounds, or he gets run over. The fight with Ray Robinson was a good experience for Kelly, but he looked faded in his last performance. If he wants to be reckoned with, he must stop these guys. I don’t think he will be able to withstand the pace and attacks that David will offer him, ”said the specialist.
