Harry landed in London

On Thursday, Prince William and Prince Harry will unveil a statue of their late mother Diana. Harry is already in London to serve his quarantine at Frogmore Cottage. The rest of his family appears to have stayed in the United States.

Prince Harry is in England. According to British media reports, he landed in his former home in London around noon. It is Harry’s first visit to Great Britain since his grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral in April. The reason for the current trip: Together with his brother Prince William, Harry will unveil a statue on July 1st to honor their late mother, Princess Diana (1961-1997).

Prince Harry is said to have been brought directly to Frogmore Cottage after landing, according to the Daily Mail, among others. According to the Corona statutes, he should spend five days in quarantine there. Normally, he would have to be in isolation for ten days, but he could have two tests carried out and, if the results were negative, leave the house on the fifth day.

Frogmore Cottage was given to Harry and his wife by the Queen for their wedding after a major restoration. Meanwhile, however, the historic building on the grounds of Windsor Castle is inhabited by Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank. At the beginning of 2020, Queen Elizabeth and Buckingham Palace announced that Harry and Meghan will voluntarily waive the use of the title “Royal Highness” from spring 2020 after their move to the USA and that they will pay the renovation and renovation costs of 2.4 Pay back millions of pounds. That means Harry knows his way around the house that no longer belongs to him.

Princess Diana would have turned 60 next Thursday. As the newspaper had previously reported, the unveiling of the statue was initially supposed to be attended by more than 100 people. However, due to Corona restrictions, only a handful of guests were there – including close relatives. Instead, a larger ceremony should follow in September, to which friends of the princess, such as Elton John and his husband, would also be invited.

Harry’s wife Megan did not come to England, it is said. Only a few weeks ago she had given birth to the couple’s second child. Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4th, and brother Archie celebrated his second birthday in May. But he doesn’t seem to be involved either. Could have become a nice icebreaker in the tense atmosphere that prevails at Königs …
