Christmas in jail: Lori Loughlin’s husband starts prison sentence

The university bribery scandal brought Lori Loughlin and her husband to prison. The actress is already serving her sentence to be able to spend Christmas with her children. Mossimo Giannulli, on the other hand, will have to spend the holidays behind bars.

Around three weeks after the “Full House” actress Lori Loughlin began her two-month prison sentence, her husband Mossimo Giannulli is now behind bars. He went to a California prison last Thursday, reports “NBC News” among others. In contrast to his wife, Giannulli does not have to stay there for two but five months.

Around 435 kilometers should be between the two facilities in which the couple are currently located. Together with Loughlin, the designer had admitted in May of this year that they had paid a bribe of US $ 500,000 to give their daughters advantages at the University of Southern California.

Loughlin had started her sentence several weeks ago in order to be able to leave the prison before December 24th. The actress wants to spend Christmas with her two daughters. In addition to jail, the 56-year-old was fined $ 150,000 and 150 hours of community service in August that year, compared to $ 250,000 and 250 hours for her husband, who is one year older.

Felicity Huffman is already through

In the university scandal last year it was revealed that in addition to Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, other wealthy parents had paid bribes. So did “Desperate Housewives” actress Felicity Huffman, who only went to prison for eleven days because of a much lower bribe.

According to the indictment, Huffman paid a $ 15,000 bribe in order to have her eldest daughter’s responses to the nationwide SAT placement test subsequently improved. Unlike Loughlin and Giannulli, Huffman pleaded guilty.

She had already started her detention, which was originally intended for 14 days, in October 2019. She is also said to have already completed the social hours and paid the fine. Since October 25, 2020, their one-year suspended sentence has also expired, reported the US celebrity portal “TMZ”.
