Comeback von “Sex and the City”
Series stars get a million – per episode

Sarah Jessica Parker and her co-stars are rewarded royally for the new edition of “Sex and the City”. Only Kim Cattrall alias Samantha misses the full fee. Parker is saddened by the fact that she will be missing in the sequel, despite defamation.

Sarah Jessica Parker returns as sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw: The cult series “Sex and the City” (SATC, 1998 to 2004) continues. Cynthia Nixon as lawyer Miranda Hobbes and Kristin Davis as gallery owner Charlotte York are also making a comeback. The fans have to do without Kim Cattrall in the role of PR woman Samantha Jones. The latter misses a hefty fee. The US trade journal “Variety” wants to know how much the leading actresses are getting for the revival. It should be a million dollars (around 820,000 euros) per episode.

It is not surprising that the SATC stars apparently exceed the million mark in their fee. For a long time the stars from “The Big Bang Theory” or “Friends” were considered the top earners with a million dollar salary. Especially in the United States, however, serial productions are booming, and so are salaries. Harrison Ford earned $ 1.2 million per episode for the series “The Staircase”, according to “Variety”. Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston for “The Morning Show” and Kerry Washington for “Little Fire Everywhere” are said to have won more than $ 1.1 million.

After two “Sex and the City” films, fans have long been waiting for a series revival. “The series will accompany Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte on their way from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” reads the content of the new episodes. The film will be shot in New York in late spring.

“Samantha will always be part of us”

Kim Cattrall had repeatedly spoken out vehemently against standing in front of the camera with her ex-colleagues. The 64-year-old caused a stir last year when she called Sarah Jessica Parker a “hypocrite” on Instagram who tries to “portray herself as a nice girl”.

Despite this, not only the fans find the actress leaving sad, but also Parker. “Nice to see you again, but I’ll miss Kim / Samantha,” wrote one user in the comments on Instagram, according to People, to which Parker replied, “We will too. We loved them so much. X.” The 55-year-old explained to another fan about the lack of Cattrall’s character: “It will always be there. And we are so excited.”

Parker also went into the rumors of alleged disputes between the “Sex and the City” stars, which have been going on for years, and explained about Kim Cattrall: Speculations that she does not like her colleague are not true. “I never said that. I never would.” Parker also wrote about the new episodes: “Samantha is not part of this story. But she will always be a part of us. No matter where we are or what we do.”
