Diaries of “Snape”: Alan Rickman’s widow plans book

British actor Alan Rickman died almost five years ago. Now his widow is planning to put her husband’s diaries on the market as a book. In it you then supposedly learn more about who the actor of the “Harry Potter” character Severus Snape really was.

The diaries of actor Alan Rickman are to be published as a book in 2022. Rickman died of pancreatic cancer in early 2016 at the age of 69. He was best known for his role as Severus Snape in the “Harry Potter” films. In “The Diaries of Alan Rickman” 25 years of his life and career are illuminated, as the “Guardian” reports.

“The diaries reveal not just Alan Rickman, the actor, but the real Alan – his sense of humor, keen observation, craftsmanship and dedication to the arts,” said Rickman’s widow, Rima Horton. The actor began to write the diaries by hand in the early 1990s – with the intention of publishing them one day.

In his private life, Rickman led a very peaceful life free from scandals, who had been in a relationship with Professor Horton since 1965 and only married in 2012. And he was socially committed. In his job he often switched from the theater stage to the film camera and back again and often played the villain. For example in 1988 in “Die Hard” or as “Sheriff of Nottingham” in the 1991 blockbuster “Robin Hood – King of Thieves”. As Severus Snape, he was acting as a strict teacher.
