However, the premiere of the film was postponed until next year.
Against the backdrop of the scandal around Armie Hammer and his numerous layoffs from film projects, there was talk that the actor could be cut from the movie “Death on the Nile.” However, recently the Variety edition, referring to insiders, reported that Death on the Nile would not be re-shot, and Hammer will remain in the film. But this is not due to the attitude towards the actor, but to the high costs of reshooting, which would have cost the filmmakers tens of millions of dollars.
At the same time, the premiere of “Death on the Nile” was postponed: from September this year to February next. As the newspaper notes, the management of Disney wants to consider the strategy of behavior amid accusations against Hammer.
Earlier it became known that Armie was fired from Amma Asante’s Billion Dollar Spy, starring Mads Mikkelsen. And last month, Hammer dropped out of the cast of the drama series Gaslit.
He was also fired from The Offer, the series about the creation of Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather. Not long before that, Armie turned down a role in the film Shotgun Wedding, where he was supposed to star with Jennifer Lopez.
The latest accusation of violence against Hammer came from his ex-girlfriend Effie, who claims that the actor once forced her into intimacy and raped her for 4 hours, while leaving her beating. Effie talked about this with her lawyer during a press conference. However, later, screenshots of the correspondence were released, in which Effie presumably admits to the interlocutor that no one raped her. “I never said that it was not by mutual agreement. I don’t understand why there are so many reports about this, ”the suspicious correspondence says. However, the police are currently investigating the Hammer case.
