Donald Trump’s company manager faces authorities

Bad news for former US President Donald Trump: The CFO of his Trump Organization has surrendered to the prosecution. The real estate empire is being investigated for tax fraud.

The Trump Organization’s chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, has surrendered to the authorities. As reported by US media, he surrendered to the Manhattan Public Prosecutor’s Office in New York on Thursday. The exact charges are not yet known. The family business of former US President Donald Trump is under investigation for tax fraud.

At Weisselberg, according to media reports, there is a suspicion that the 73-year-old received additional benefits from the Trump Organization, such as the use of apartments and cars, that were not taxed. According to the Washington Post, prosecutors are hoping that the 73-year-old could cooperate with the authorities and testify against Trump in order to improve his own prospects. In addition to family members, Weisselberg is a key figure in the company.

According to the media, his former daughter-in-law provided decisive information against the chief financial officer. Among other things, this testified to the investigators that Weisselberg’s son received a free apartment and a generous salary while working for the Trump organization. The indictment may be whether taxes were paid on these and other benefits by senior employees of the company.

Trump Organization: “This is not justice; this is politics”

The Trump Organization accused the public prosecutor’s office of wanting to use Weisselberg as a pawn sacrifice. Attempts should be made to leave scorched earth behind and harm the former Republican President. “This is not justice; this is politics,” the message said.

It is unclear whether legal action could be taken against Trump personally at a later date. The ex-president himself had denied any wrongdoing and described the investigation as a witch hunt by politically motivated public prosecutors. Investigating District Attorney Cyrus Vance is a Democrat.

The indictment will probably be brought on Thursday

The New York judiciary will probably file charges against the family holding this Thursday. The real estate business of the ex-president is bundled in the Trump Organization, which consists of hundreds of individual companies. She owns luxury hotels, golf clubs, residential buildings, and commercial real estate in the United States and abroad. Probably the most famous property is the Trump Tower in New York, where Trump lived for a long time. The 75-year-old also used to own a number of casinos.

Trump took over the family business from his father, Fred Trump, in the 1970s. After winning the 2016 presidential election and taking office in January 2017, he handed over management of the business to his sons Donald Junior and Eric. The group reportedly has tens of thousands of employees, including in several high-rise buildings, hotels and golf courses.
