Samsung has made blood pressure tracking functionality available on its Galaxy Watch3 and Galaxy Watch Active2 smartwatches in 31 more countries. Users will be able to monitor their blood pressure using Samsung Health Monitor. Samsung Health Monitor has received EU certification to meet EU safety, health and environmental requirements. Thus, the ability to monitor blood pressure will work in 28 European countries, as well as Chile, Indonesia and the UAE. Already about one million users in South Korea have used this blood pressure monitoring app since the launch of the new functionality last June. The smartwatch measures blood pressure using pulse wave analysis monitored by a heart rate sensor. Samsung Health Monitor monitors the relationship between the measured value and the previously calibrated value. Unfortunately, this functionality is not yet available to users from Russia, but the company says it is working to expand the geography of the service.
