Eddie Hearn, promoter of WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, said the WBO has given them an extra week to complete negotiations with its mandatory challenger Alexander Usik.

“As a matter of fact, on June 3, they were supposed to appoint a promotional bidding, but the deadline was extended by seven days, so we still have a week. It seems to me that we are in a position where we can agree on a fight today. If Usyk’s team agrees, then the deal is ready.

I think we have a few fallbacks. I still believe that the fight with Dillian White should take place sometime. If we didn’t have so many mandatory applicants, it seems to me that he would have already passed.

Andy Ruiz is the number three candidate. I think this is a big fight. Luis Ortiz is another fight that can be arranged in the United States. There are several options, but our absolute priority is to defend against Usyk and keep these titles, “said Eddie Hearn.

We will remind, Hearn also stated that Joshua is not afraid to fight with Usyk.
