Eddie Hearn, head of The Matchroom Boxing, has ruled out the possibility of a heavyweight unification fight between his ward Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury in the UK. According to Hearn, he travels a lot now and chooses the country that will host the fight.
“We have already held many meetings to organize this fight and visited many different countries. I have visited some of them over the past few weeks, or even days. I think we are in a good position. Of course, there are some wacky points. I understand everyone wants this fight to take place in the UK, but at the moment the government does not even allow training, ”Hearn said.
Also, the promoter said that negotiations between the boxers’ parties are almost complete, only some details remain to be finalized.
“We have already prepared a contract, but it has not been signed yet. Nevertheless, the deal was agreed upon a long time ago, and we even confirmed this in writing. To be honest, I can say that the battle has already begun. We are at the final stage and have worked out all the main points, ”added Hearn.
