The rapper found a fan in the face of the actress.
Recently, 47-year-old Elizabeth Banks posted on social networks her own photo in the image of Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games next to one of the images of Lil Nas X in his music video Montero. The video, by the way, was awarded the Grammy Music Award.
In one of the episodes of the video, the rapper poses in a Victorian-era steampunk costume, similar to the one that the actress tried on on the set of the popular franchise.
“To be honest, I’m delighted,” she wrote in a commentary on the post.
The character Banks, taken from the books of Suzanne Collins, was known for his flamboyant and bold style. Lil Nas X used the same aesthetic in the video. The video begins with an artist being seduced by a serpent in the Garden of Eden. He is then brought to trial and subsequently stoned to death. He makes his way to heaven on a pole, where he meets the devil and arranges a shocking dance for him.
Some of the web users did not appreciate the musician’s creative idea and criticized the video, accusing the singer of “destroying society.” Lil Nas X responded to detractors on Twitter.
“There are massacres every week and our government is doing nothing to stop them. The fact that I am swinging on a pole in computer graphics does not destroy society, ”said the performer.
