Russian sports promoter Vladimir Khryunov said boxer Fyodor Chudinov could fight Mexican ring superstar Saul Alvarez.
Let us remind you that on June 4, in St. Petersburg, Chudinov (23-2-1, 16 KOs) will fight South African Rino Liebenberg (21-7-1, 14 KOs) for the title of the WBA world middleweight champion. According to Khryunov, in case of victory, the Russian will be considered as the next opponent for Canelo.
“We have a preliminary agreement that in case of victory, Chudinov becomes a mandatory contender for the fight with Canelo. This is the best boxer today, regardless of weight categories,” Khryunov said on the Match TV channel.
Note that Alvarez spent his last fight in early May, having won an early victory over Briton Billy Joe Saunders, who refused to continue the fight due to his injury.
