Frank Warren: “Warrington doesn’t need a rematch with Lara”

Frank Warren, the former promoter of British ex-featherweight champion (under 57.2 kg) Josh Warrington (30-1-0, 7 KO), believes that he will make a mistake if he agrees to an immediate rematch with Mexican Mauricio Lara (22-2- 0.15 KO).

“In the first round he was cut off with a left hook, and then caught on the same hook and uppercut. Then I thought that this guy could give him problems, but things went awry in the fourth round. It was inglorious.

Until now, I considered Josh the best in the world and I really don’t understand why he gave up his title. And, in this regard, I am not sure that he was paid adequately. It’s hard to recover from such fights, and when I found out that they would have revenge, I thought it was a mistake, ”Warren said.
