Gilberto Ramirez withdrew from fight against Marcus Brown

The World Boxing Council (WBC) reported that he was contacted by the managers of Gilbert Ramirez, who notified the management of the organization that their ward had decided to abandon the eliminator fight with Marcus Brown for unknown reasons.

According to the WBC, Ramirez’s team initially requested an extension of the negotiations with Brown’s men, but then pulled out of the deal “at the last minute.” Due to Ramirez’s unexpected refusal, tomorrow’s bids for the fight were canceled.

Recall that Ramirez last entered the ring in December, when he managed to stop Alfonso Lopez in the tenth round. This fight was his first performance for the Mexican since April 2019. In the past, Ramirez held the world middleweight title, but then decided to move up to the light heavyweight division because of the heavy weight race.
