Nine children die in an accident in the United States

A father, his nine-month-old daughter and eight girls from a home are the victims of a serious traffic accident in the US state of Alabama. The reason for the autobahn accident is apparently heavy rain.

Nine children and one adult were killed in a pile-up in the US state of Alabama. This was announced by coroner Wayne Garlock. Heavy rains from the “Claudette” storm may be partly responsible for the accident on Saturday near Greenville, in which more than 15 vehicles were involved, said Garlock.

The tropical storm “Claudette” brought heavy rains to Alabama and is said to be partly responsible for the crash with 15 cars.

According to media reports, the dead are a 29-year-old father and his nine-month-old daughter in an off-road vehicle, as well as eight inmates of a car in which there were children from a state-run girls’ home. Foster children also live there. The broadcaster CNN reported that the dead children were between 4 and 17 years old.

The accident occurred on Saturday in stormy weather on the I-65 motorway. According to the police, the highway was temporarily closed.
