This story began in the mid-90s of the last century. Then Princess Diana decided to bequeath her collection of jewelry to her sons, or rather, to their wives.

The princess did not specify who was entitled to what, leaving it to the discretion of William and Harry.

Time passed, and in 2011 Kate Middleton’s finger sparkled with a 12-carat sapphire engagement ring, surrounded by 14 diamonds, set in 18-carat white gold worth 300,000 pounds sterling – just from Diana’s inheritance.

British journalists then noted that the royal wedding ring is not so much a personal piece of jewelry as it is a part of history. Especially the story of Diana, adored by the people.

And wise Kate changed nothing in her ring. I just asked the jewelers to reduce the size.

A few more years passed, and in 2017 Prince Harry was going to marry. And he also rummaged through his mother’s jewelry. He chose his mother’s jewelry with three diamonds from Botswana as his engagement ring for Megan. And he came up with the design himself.

Megan wore this ring at her wedding and afterwards too. But after a while, the gossip reporters suddenly saw that the engagement ring had changed; a wide strip of gold that securely held the stones turned into a narrow light strip.

The British do not like Meghan Markle anyway, and here every bast is in line: Harry’s wife was rained with reproaches for the “strange” decision to change her husband’s gift.

But what’s done is done. After all, Megan still has a lot of Diana’s jewelry. According to the Daily Mail, the mother-in-law’s inheritance is estimated at £ 600,000.

The collection contains 91 items, including seven necklaces, 23 bracelets, 26 rings and 35 pairs of earrings.
