BoxingScene.com reports citing sources that the WBO featherweight champion (up to 57.2 kg), Mexican Emanuel Navarrete (32-1-0, 27 KO) will hold his first title defense on April 24 in the United States.
26-year-old Navarrete will face 26-year-old Puerto Rican ex-challenger Christopher Diaz (26-2-0, 16 KO).
The fighter has already fought for the belt – in July 2018, in the fight for the same WBO belt, he lost on points to the Japanese Masayuki Ito (26-3-1, 14 KO). A year later, he suffered a second defeat, missing the American Olympian Shakur Stevenson (15-0-0, 8 KO).
Navarrete took the title in October, beating out American prospect Ruben Vilho in twelve rounds (18-1-0, 5 KO).
