Former world junior middleweight champion Jaime Mungia will still perform as planned on June 19th, but now he will have to fight another opponent.
According to the BoxingScene.com portal, the unbeaten Mexican will enter the ring against the Pole Kamil Sheremeta, who will replace his compatriot Maciej Sulecki, who decided to withdraw from the fight for unknown reasons.
Recall that Mungia (36-0, 29 KOs) has not entered the ring since October last year, when he won an early victory over Tureano Johnson in Indio (California, USA). This was only the second fight for the Mexican in the middle division, where he moved at the end of 2019. Initially, Mungia planned to fight on April 24 against the aforementioned Sulecki, but the battle eventually had to be postponed to June, as the Pole injured his elbow.
His new opponent Sheremeta (21-1, 5 KOs) last fought with Gennady Golovkin last December. The titled Kazakhstani managed to get four knockdowns before the corner of Sheremeta threw out a white towel.
