Jamel Herring beat Carl Frampton, forcing his corner to stop the fight and defend the world title

The main event of the evening of boxing from the promotion companies Queensbury Promotions and Top Rank has just ended in Dubai (UAE), in which the holder of the WBO featherweight champion Jamel Herring (22-2, 10 KOs) entered the ring to defend the title from claims of ex-double-weight champion Carl Frampton (28-2, 16 KOs), who announced that this performance will be the last in his sports career.

Frampton started the fight by working on the body with his front hand, while Herring pressed down on the opponent, hit the jab, occasionally connecting a left cross. Strongly inferior in size, Karl tried to close the distance, where he often ate the champion’s check-hook. When he managed to reach Herring, he most often did it with the help of a sweeping overhand or a right hook to the torso.

In the 4th round, Jamel, as in his previous fight, opened a cut on the eyelid. By that time, Frampton had become more insolent, imposing close combat on the champion. In the next five minutes, Herring managed to knock down the challenger, which strengthened his advantage in the eyes of the judges.

The end of the confrontation came in the 6th round, when Frampton missed a short uppercut and fell back to the canvas. Unable to recover quickly, Karl began to helplessly eat blow after blow until his corner stopped the fight, thereby saving his fighter from unnecessary damage.

Result: Jamel Herring defeated Carl Frampton via TKO in round 6
