Jonathon Banks, coach of former world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, spoke in a recent interview with The Sun about the Ukrainian boxer’s last two fights, which he had with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Recall that in 2015, Fury managed to outbox Klitschko, inflicting his first defeat in eleven years, while two years later, Joshua, having survived a knockdown, stopped Vladimir early in the championship rounds.
“On the one hand, I knew that we had problems even before the fight with Fury, and at the same time, I had no doubt that we would have problems in the fight itself. On the other hand, regarding the fight with A.J., I knew that Vlad can win, and I wanted him to go for a knockout when I asked him about it. However, he did not manage to deal with him at the right time, but in boxing, it rarely happens when you are not able to control anything, “- said Banks.
