Mexican boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez considers WBA super champion Callum Smith to be a very good opponent for his compatriot Saul Alvarez.

“Smith is quite a tall fighter, I would say even extremely tall. He didn’t look very good in his last fight, and many people think he lost then. That’s why Canelo likes him [в роли соперника]- said Chavez.

“However, he is not an opponent to be underestimated. He is very tall for his division and Canelo will have to deal with that.

Based on the last fight, many consider him an unremarkable boxer, but he is a first-tier rival. We all have bad performances in the ring. Logically, Canelo should win, but anything can happen when you’re in the ring.

If we talk about Golovkin, then in this regard, Smith will be a much better opponent. Jermall Charlo is also at his peak now, having managed to show in the recent fight with Derevyanchenko that he is a very good fighter. Smith had a bad evening with Ryder, but it will be very different when he comes out to fight Canelo.
