Former undisputed world light welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu spoke about his intention to open his own promotion company.
“I am planning to open a promotion company,” Tszyu is quoted by the TASS news agency as saying.
Recall that Tszyu, who will turn 52 this year, ended his professional career in 2005, losing to British boxer Ricky Hatton. In total, he has 31 victories (25 by knockout) in 34 fights, as well as 2 defeats. At one time, Tszyu owned the world titles in all three prestigious versions, and also defeated such ring legends as Zab Judda and Julio Cesar Chavez.
On June 12, 2011, Kostya Tszyu was included in the International Boxing Hall of Fame as a person who made a huge contribution to the development of this sport. At the moment, his eldest son Tim continues his father’s legacy as a successful professional boxer in the junior middleweight division.
