Former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis shared his memories of his fight with Mike Tyson, which took place on June 8, 2002, and ended with his victory by knockout in the eighth round.

“On this day in 2002, I stopped Mike Tyson in the eighth round, retaining the WBC, IBF, IBO, The Ring and heavyweight lines. I knew that Tyson was the last opponent I had to fight in order to strengthen my legacy. ”I couldn’t help but face him, letting the manipulators say that I never fought Tyson.

Before that, I tried to fight him for many years, but could not arrange it. So I finally organized a fight when I was able to dictate terms.

As much as Mike and I liked to argue when we performed, these days I have nothing for him but love. I’m proud of how he was able to change his life, “- wrote Lennox Lewis on his Instagram page.
