Lili Reinhart shares that she was rejected for the role of Betty in “Riverdale”

The star of the series was first refused a casting.

Riverdale star Lili Reinhart, in an interview on The Stephen Colbert Show, recalled being turned down the role that would make her famous. In the project for the CW, the 24-year-old actress played Betty Cooper.

Reinhart recalled that she auditioned by sending a video from home. She spent almost three hours preparing it.

“I recorded myself on tape from home, and I was actually told ‘no’, they were not interested,” the actress said.

Then she moved to Los Angeles and was able to personally attend auditions, which this time proved to be successful. Lily wasn’t the only one that failed – most of Riverdale’s stars, she said, were “turned down multiple times” with the exception of Cole Sprouse, who plays Jughead Jones.

Riverdale’s fifth season will premiere on January 20. The season will open with iconic school events such as the prom. On Colbert’s program, Reinhart also shared that she never went to high school graduation. From the age of 16, she switched to online education in order to devote more time to acting, and therefore only watched friends gathering for the prom.

Then Lily promised herself that when she became an actress, she would have a lot more reasons to wear beautiful outfits on the award carpets.
