Lily Collins talks about eating disorder

She shared a way to deal with anorexia.

Actress, model, and writer Lily Collins admitted frankly that she struggled with an eating disorder in an interview for the Make It Reign podcast. In a conversation with project host Josh Smith, the 31-year-old actress said: “I let these dark thoughts dictate how I live my life, what to eat or not, and what restrictions to impose on myself.” The star of the film “Emily in Paris” admitted that for many years she had to resort to the help of psychotherapists to realize that the causes of her disorder, which appeared in her youth, “no longer apply” to her today.

To cope with the disease, the actress was helped by “simple positive things that make you happy.” The celebrity suffered from anorexia for a long time, which she could completely get rid of only by the age of 25. “There were voices in my head that drowned out my reason and my inner voice,” Lily said. A large role in her healing, according to Collins, was played by her current chosen one, Charlie McDowell.

The actress said that only thanks to the friendship and love of loved ones and her chosen one, she was able to become “the best version of herself.” Lily also advised viewers of the project to get rid of any hunger, be it emotional or physical, in order to live a fulfilling life.
