The actress is afraid that working together will ruin their relationship.
Over the years, 62-year-old Michelle Pfeiffer has appeared in many outstanding films. Her 1993 marriage to screenwriter and television producer David E. Kelly should have had an even more beneficial effect on getting new roles, fans speculated. But Michelle did not work on the same site with her husband. And in a recent interview with The New Yorker, the actress explained why.
In a conversation, Pfeiffer admitted that her husband, the writer and executive producer of Big Little Lies, “writes for women like no other.” But the actress does not seek to take advantage of her husband’s talent for creating strong roles and portraying brave women.
“I’ve seen a lot of couples who really seem to have a great marriage, and then they work together – and they file for divorce next year,” Pfeiffer said.
The couple tied the knot in 1993, just 10 months after their first blind date. They have a 26-year-old son, John, and a 28-year-old daughter, Claudia – Michelle’s adoption process began just a few months before meeting Kelly. The scriptwriter not only supported his beloved, but also willingly accepted fatherhood right away.
“We both saw each other as parents before we progressed in our romantic relationship,” the star said in early interviews.
