Mikey Garcia: “I’m small for a welterweight, but confident in myself”

Former world champion in four weight classes, American Mikey Garcia (40-1-0, 30 KO) answered the skeptics who do not understand why he, starting his career in the featherweight division, climbed into the welterweight division.

“That’s right. To be honest, I’m a small guy even for the first welterweight. Let me remind you that I won the title at 126 pounds. And yes, all these guys are 140 and 147 pounds bigger than me, and I don’t fight at my weight, but I accept that.

This is just part of the challenge. I am aware of my capabilities and I know what I am capable of. That’s why I stay competitive, ”said the fighter.

Earlier in an interview, Garcia spoke about the situation around his next performance.
