Nonito Donaire talks about rematch with Naoya Inoue

Former four-weight champion and former pound-for-pound member, Filipino veteran Nonito Donaire, answering journalists’ questions ahead of the fight with WBC bantamweight champion (up to 53.5 kg), Frenchman Nordin Ubaali, once again spoke about revenge with the division leader, Japanese Naoya Inoue.

“Now my main task is to become the undisputed champion and have a rematch with Naoya Inoue. I read on the news that he is ready to fight the winner of our fight with Ubaali. If so, then I have something to hope for.

I know Japanese fighters are very noble and words mean something to them. The killer instinct was not inherent in my career, but I learned a lot about him in that fight. I didn’t want to finish when I shook him, although in the old years I would have gone after his head, ”the fighter said.
