As we previously reported, ex-world lightweight champion Richard Commey will return to the ring on February 13th, after a crushing defeat in a fight with Teofimo Lopez. Richard admitted that he will not seek to knock out his opponent Jackson Marines, but still intends to win with confidence to prove that he still belongs to the elite of the lightweight division.
“Throughout my career, I have said that I do not seek to knock out my opponents. I go there and try to demonstrate what I worked on during the training camp. If you manage to knock out your opponent, then I regard it as a bonus.
This is a 10 round fight and I’m setting myself up to spend the entire fight. In the end, the end result should be in my favor, no matter which way I get it. Marines is a good fighter, but on February 13th I will prove that I belong to the elite of the lightweight division, ”Commey said.
Recall that Richard Commey and Jackson Marines will fight on February 13th at The Bubble arena of the MGM Grand hotel complex in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
