Ricky Hatton: “Taylor’s main fights are yet to come”

Star British ex-champion in two weight categories Ricky Hatton spoke about the prospects of the new undisputed welterweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) and compatriot Josh Taylor (18-0-0, 13 KO) after defeating American Jose Ramirez (26-1- 0.17 KO).

“It’s hard to believe what Josh has achieved. It was a great day for British boxing and I believe Josh hasn’t had his say yet. Probably his next move will be the transition to welterweight. Although he has the option to go to Teofimo Lopez, who will rise to him from light weight without any problems.

Josh still has a defining fight against a guy with a really big name. Yes, he has won five world titles, but his main fights are yet to come. And no one deserves it more than him. People have always paid attention to the welterweight, although we shouldn’t forget about the lightweights. Their division is perhaps the best to date, ”Hatton said.
