Ruslan Provodnikov on the death of Vladimir Gendlin: “The era is over. Thanks for everything.”


Former world champion in the first welterweight division Ruslan Provodnikov commented on the news of the death of the famous Russian boxing commentator Vladimir Gendlin.

“Vladimir Gendlin passed away. A legendary personality. His voice was known to all boxing lovers. Calm, accurate in his assessment, Vladimir Ilyich was able to convey to the viewer the whole palette of what was happening in the ring. We grew up watching fights with his apt and capacious comments.

The era is gone. Thank you for everything, “Ruslan Provodnikov wrote on his Instagram page.

Recall that Vladimir Gendlin died on April 5 at the age of 84. This tragic event was preceded by serious health problems. In early March, the legendary commentator suffered a massive heart attack and was later diagnosed with the coronavirus, which led to pneumonia.
