Russell: “Spence won’t beat Pacquiao on points”
BOXING

WBC featherweight title holder (up to 57.2 kg), American Gary Russell gave an unexpected prediction for the upcoming megafight of star welterweight fighters (up to 66.7 kg), compatriot Errol Spence and Filipino Manny Pacquiao, which will take place on August 21 in Las Vegas.

According to Russell, Spence has no chance of outboxing the former leader of the pound-for-pound rating, despite his very, very advanced age for a fighter.

“Yes, Errol is bigger, physically stronger and all … But what happens when you fight big guys? Everyone knows Chris Byrd. Chris Byrd was never a big heavyweight puncher, but what did he do? His goal was to screw up guys and make them pay for it.

Manny Pacquiao has extraordinary experience and is able to make Spence pay for his mistakes. I don’t think Spence will be able to cope with his activity. Pacquiao will score points all night, unless Errol cornered him and slammed him, ”the fighter said.
