Russians will be able to watch the Oscar-2021 online

The ceremony will take place on April 25.

Russian viewers will be able to watch the online Oscar ceremony, which will take place on 25 April. This is reported by the Okko company, which will be responsible for the broadcast.

The ceremony can be seen on the night from Sunday to Monday, April 26, at the same time with the whole world. The company has not yet provided additional details: the presence of Russian voice acting and the names of the commentators, the need to register for viewing, and so on.

Okko shared the good news with fans of cinema in their Telegram channel. This is not the first time for an online cinema: they were the ones who showed the Oscars last year, but their work has met with a lot of criticism from the public. Viewers did not like that the commentators did not watch many of the winning films and that the discussion was unprofessional. The presenters themselves also confused the Russians: actors Sergei Burunov and Yulia Peresild, as well as TV presenter Pyotr Fadeev. Commentators were distracted by third-party topics, forgetting to follow what was happening at the awards, and also allowed themselves to make offensive statements about their Hollywood colleagues.

Of the advantages of the broadcast, viewers noted its high quality, as well as the fact that it was completely free.
