Ryan Garcia and Luke Campbell fight postponed to next year
BOXING

Promotional companies Golden Boy Promotions and Matchroom Boxing have jointly announced that the interim WBC lightweight title fight between Ryan Garcia and Luke Campbell has been re-scheduled for January 2, while its venue has yet to be finalized.

Recall that initially the fight between Campbell and Garcia (20-0, 17KOs) was supposed to take place on December 5 at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio (California), but the Briton was diagnosed with COVID-19, as a result of which the fight had to be canceled …

Note that Garcia entered the ring for the last time in February of this year, having brutally knocked out Nicaraguan Francisco Fonseca in the first round. Whereas Campbell in his last fight, which took place already in August 2019, was defeated by the former lightweight leader Vasily Lomachenko.
