Ryan Garcia: “Lopez did not destroy Lomachenko. I would strive to knock out Vasily”

BOXING

Interim WBC lightweight champion Ryan Garcia claims he saw nothing supernatural in the reigning undisputed world champion in the 135-pound division Teofimo Lopez’s victory over Vasily Lomachenko. The 22-year-old boxer said that if he fought with a Ukrainian, he would try to get a brighter victory.

“When I think of Teofimo, I remember his acrobatic jumps. As for me, he still hasn’t reached the highest level, but I still respect Lopez for defeating Lomachenko. Good robot. Did he destroy him? I think that no. He did not beat him the way he wanted to win. I would try to knock out Lomachenko.

As for me, a good victory is when you knock out your opponent or just declass him hard. I don’t believe Lopez did this. I think that he fought well, gave a fairly high-quality fight, but there was nothing that would make me think, “Yes, that was okay,” Ryan Garcia said during a live broadcast on Instgram.
