World champion in four weight classes and number one pound-for-pound rating Saul Alvarez revealed in a recent interview with Graham Bensinger that he spent three long days negotiating with his brother’s kidnappers ahead of his fight against Rocky Fielding in December 2018.

“For three days I talked with these assholes so that they would release my brother. Three days … And on top of that, on Saturday I had a fight scheduled, as well as thousands of interviews and all kinds of other commitments, and no one was doing anything. People saw me in the ring, saying: “Wow, it was very easy.” But in this life, nothing is easy. You have to pour sweat for everything, ”Alvarez said.

At the same time, Canelo noted that he did not contact the Mexican police, because he believed that they could be involved in the abduction.

Recall, on May 8, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Alvarez will fight undefeated WBO middleweight title holder Billy Joe Saunders.
