The singer sang in Spanish for the first time in many years and intends to release a Spanish-language album.
Selena Gomez recently released her first music video for the Spanish-language song De Una Vez. The directors of the video in which Selena tried on a delicate feminine image were Tanya Verduzko and Adrian Perez.
Shortly after the premiere of the music video, Gomez also released a video about the filming of De Una Vez. “This is my first song in Spanish since I was 18-19 years old. I spent many hours trying to adjust my pronunciation. I kind of know all this since childhood, but it was great to get into it now. This is a completely different world, ”Gomez said in the video.
The video also showed the filming of various scenes in the video and the process of applying makeup to Selene using her Rare Beauty cosmetics.
In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Selena noted that she is not limited to one song and is taking up work on a Spanish-language album. “This is what I have wanted to do for 10 years. I am proud of my roots. Now is the time to do it. There is something about Latin music that makes people feel deeply, ”said the singer.
In December, in an interview with Mexican Vogue, Gomez spoke a little about her roots. Selena’s grandparents are Mexicans who secretly crossed the US border. The singer noted that the family is everything for her. “I am very close to my family. Grandma and grandpa live with me. We quarrel a lot, but we love each other even more, ”summed up Gomez.
