Sofia Vergara Wins Best Comedic Performance in Family of America

“It was the best time in my life,” the actress admitted.

American actress of Colombian descent Sofia Vergara won the People’s Choice Awards 2020 in the nomination “Star of the Comedy Series.” She earned this award for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in Modern Family.

At the awards ceremony, the actress appeared in a luxurious Dolce & Gabbana red lace dress. The audience noticed that the star herself blushed when she took the stage to accept the well-deserved award.

“This is a very special award because, as you know, nine months ago we completed The American Family. So, this is the last award I will ever receive for a show that changed my life and my career, ”said Sofia Vergara, taking the cherished statuette in her hands.

“I want to thank you for making me a part of this fantastic show. It was the best time in my life, and I appreciated every moment I spent there, ”added the actress. Already coming down from the stage, Sofia shouted: “I miss you, Ed O’Neill!” (Ed O’Neill played Jay Pritchett, Gloria’s husband and Claire and Mitchell’s father in the series).

“American Family” aired on ABC channel for 11 seasons (2009 – 2020) and brought popularity to 48-year-old Sofia Vergara, who could not boast of wide popularity before participating in this project.
