It became known that at the age of 85, the famous director and screenwriter Robert Downey Sr., the father of the “Iron Man” star from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has passed away.
The last few years, the master suffered from Parkinson’s disease. Death came in a dream. This was announced by the director’s 56-year-old son Robert Downey Jr. on his Instagram.
“Dad quietly passed away in his sleep. For many years he endured unbearable pain due to Parkinson’s disease. He was an incredible creator and remained an optimist until the very end, ”the actor wrote.
During his life, the star’s father shot more than 18 paintings. He worked not only as a director, but also wrote scripts for films, was a producer and an actor. One of his cult projects is the Twilight Zone TV series.
