Iran denies indirect nuclear talks with the USA

According to its foreign ministry, Iran will be with the new atomic meeting in Vienna not negotiate with the US. “We will not speak to the USA either directly or indirectly in Vienna,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. He rejected media reports that there would also be indirect negotiations on Tuesday. “Iran’s policy in this regard is clear and simple: The US must return to the Vienna nuclear agreement, fulfill the deal in accordance with the treaty and, accordingly, lift the sanctions against Iran,” said Araghchi. As soon as this is the case, Iran will also stick to the agreements in the deal again.

Former US President Donald Trump unilaterally terminated the 2015 Vienna nuclear deal. The remaining contractual partners are China, Germany, France, Great Britain and Russia. Tuesday’s meeting marks the first serious attempt to save the nuclear deal with Iran since US President Joe Biden took office.
