US and NATO troops leave Bagram base in Afghanistan

After nearly 20 years, US soldiers and coalition forces have the Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan leave. This was announced by a senior US military official. US media reports said the base had been handed over to the Afghan security forces. The Afghan Ministry of Defense did not initially comment on this.

The Bagram Air Force Base is that largest base of coalition troops in Afghanistan and at the same time the headquarters of the US military in the country. Bagram is located about 40 kilometers north of the capital Kabul.
