According to BoxingScene.com, the fight between WBC bantamweight champion (up to 53.5 kg), Frenchman Nordin Ubaali (17-0-0, 12 KO), and ex-champion in four weight categories, Filipino veteran Nonito Donaire (40-6 -0.26 KO), scheduled for May 29th.
Recall that the fighters planned to fight in December, but the fight did not take place due to Ubaali’s visa problems. Later, Donaire withdrew from the show due to the coronavirus.
Both have not performed for a long time. Ubaali in November 2019 in Japan outboxed mandatory challenger Takumu Inoue (14-1-0, 3 KO), inflicting his first career defeat. Donaire lost to Takuma’s older brother and division leader Naoe Inoue on the same evening (20-0-0, 17 KO).
