The rematch of Alexander Povetkin and Dillian White may be postponed once again due to the difficult situation with the coronavirus in the UK, said Andrei Ryabinsky, head of the World of Boxing promotion company.
Recall that initially the second fight between Povetkin and White was supposed to take place in November last year, but the Russian heavyweight became infected with the COVID-19 virus, as a result of which it was decided to reassign the date to a different date. The rematch is currently scheduled for March 6th.
“Officially, the decision to postpone has not been made, although there is talk about it in connection with the situation in the UK with the coronavirus. We also discussed the possibility of holding this fight in another country. So far, no one knows how it will turn out. The possibility of postponing the fight between Sasha and White is not ruled out. it is necessary, but at the moment I would not say that the probability of this is high. The biggest problem is how to reach the peak of the form in case of a postponement … I would very much like to know the deadlines in advance, but everything else does not bother us so much, ” Ryabinsky said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
