US investigates new accident involving Tesla autopilot

In the United States, another accident involving a Tesla that was presumably in autopilot mode is being investigated. On Monday, a Tesla crashed into a truck tractor in New Jersey. The 44-year-old driver said he had turned on the cruise control “when he briefly ignored the road” and his car bored under the trailer, a statement from local police said. The impact was so severe that the roof on the passenger side was torn off, but the driver only suffered minor injuries. The US traffic safety agency NHTSA is currently investigating 23 accidents in which a Tesla is involved.
