Former US President Donald Trump confessed in a podcast interview that he deliberately did not follow the advice of immunologist Fauci. Instead, he continues to be confident about himself.
During his tenure, former US President Donald Trump deliberately did not follow the advice of the US immunologist Anthony Fauci. Trump now openly admitted this – and above all without any apparent regret – in a podcast interview with Lisa Boothe. Boothe is best known for her job with the American news broadcaster “Fox News Channel”.
“I listened to him, but I didn’t do what he said, because honestly his evidence is not good evidence,” said Trump on the podcast “The Truth with Lisa Boothe”. Commenting on Fauci’s many years of experience, Trump said, “I haven’t really promoted him. He’s been there for 40 years – he’s been there for ages.”
As the media organization “Insider” reported, Trump and Fauci’s opinions on the corona pandemic often differed. For example, while Fauci was against banning entry from China, Trump stuck to decisions like these. Even today, the former US president is still convinced of their accuracy: “If we hadn’t done that, we would have hundreds of thousands more deaths in our country,” Trump said in a podcast interview.
